A video of a South Carolina rescue dog getting to his new furnever at home melts the hearts of the whole world!
Abigail Arellano, a veterinary technician at the Oconee Humane Society Pet Care Clinic, shared the video of her new rescue dog on Tiktok over the weekend, which has now garnered nearly 7 million likes. views and 1.3 million likes.
What captured everyone’s hearts was the way the rescue dog held Arellano’s hand in the video. “I adopted this dog and he held my hand all the way home“wrote Arellano.
On Facebook, Oconee Humane Society shared the story of rescue dog, Loki, and their very own Pet Care Clinic Vet Tech, Arellano.
According to the shelter, Loki fell very ill and had to be treated at the shelter’s new pet care clinic. Arellano then began to take care of Loki and even encouraged him medically during his recovery.
“He [Loki] well integrated into the family and its [Arellano’s] the young son fell in love with the puppy too. When Loki was well enough to return to the adoption center, Abby just couldn’t let him go. writes shelter.
In a video update, Arellano also shared that her husband had agreed to favor Loki but warned her not to get too attached to the pooch, to which Arellano replied with “yes of course not!”
But when it was time to take the sweet pooch back to the vet, Arellano and Loki were very upset. So Arellano begged her husband one last time to keep the dog, and luckily he agreed.
And thanks to Loki’s viral video, Arellano is also taking the opportunity to highlight all the amazing work Dr. Paul Black does for all animals, including Loki, at the Oconee Humane Society.
She called him a “true MVP” to volunteer and perform surgeries on the shelter animal. “He is not paid a penny [and] he does it completely at his own pace,” said Arellano.
Currently, Loki is responding to treatment and doing well with his new furalways with family.
