Take your dog to work The day is upon us!
From cat libraries For puppy cuddle rooms, one thing is clear: pets are increasingly welcome in the workplace. And employees see the benefits add up – they’re more collaborative when the dogs are around, More relaxed when the cats are around, and more creative when pets are in sight.
Businesses also see better morale, higher attendance and fewer stress-related health problems when pets are allowed in the workplace. It’s no wonder that 20% of American companies allow pets in the office!
If your workplace wants to become a pet, consider these tips.
- Create a dog policy with a committee of dog owners and non-owners giving their opinion, outlining acceptable behavior and what might get a pet banned from the office
- Offer the essential for all employees: pet water fountains, pet treats, dog pick-up bags and the ability to take dogs for short walks during the day
- Consider create a pet-free zone for employees who prefer not to be around pets
